| 13.15.4 "Visitors" vs "Hits" Statistically, each visitor represents a unique IP address, from which an album is viewed, and a hit is a single occurrence of viewing (accessing) any of album's contents. Thus, the number of visitors for an album is the number of different computers, from which that album was accessed, and that of hits shows how many times that album was viewed.
Needless to say that one visitor can (and usually does) create multiple hits to an album by viewing different photos in it. That is why the number of hits is usually larger than the number of visitors.
